Jordi and Tara, the PlaceFull dogs

There are several studies that show having dogs in the office have some serious benefits including reduced employee stress, increased productivity, better group cohesion, and even bumping up recruiting efforts!

Here at PlaceFull we’re lucky to have the option of bringing our well-behaved canine friends to work with us. Or, in my case, I get my dog fix without having to carry anyone’s poop around in a plastic bag. It works out well for everyone involved and there’s not much better than working away with a snoozing pooch under your desk.

Lee, our amazing graphic designer and art director, brings in her two pups on a regular basis. Jordi is the big brother and he’s ALL boy. Rough and tumble and protective of his little sister. Tara is sweet, quiet, and dainty and she LOVES to look out the window as the seagulls fly by. They’re usually happy to hang out under the desks and nap, but when that rubber ball comes out…watch out! Lee takes them out for a mid-day run and when they all come back, it’s back to napping and “greeting” our guests at the front door.

Our neighbors across the alley, Rover.com, are up their knees in dogs! We walk by our windows and see them all happily snuggled up and working together. We’ve spied both Gus and Charlie through our windows as well as a bevy of other office dogs. Their office must be humming with productivity and an oasis of zen calm!

Do you get to bring your dogs in to work with you? What are some of the benefits you’ve seen?

Autumn Sakai is PlaceFull’s Mistress of the Blog. She’s a true Seattle native who runs in the rain, takes her kid to to the zoo in the rain, and waits for the bus in the rain. When it’s sunny she slathers on sunscreen and waits for the rain to come back. She loves a good wedding, bakes wicked awesome cookies, and secretly knows all the lyrics to ‘Yentl’. What? Don’t judge.
