4 Reasons Why Your Listing Isn’t Showing Availability

There are 4 common reasons why your calendar may not be showing availability for your customers. Most of the time, this is a quick fix in the listing editor.

Reason 1: 24-hour minimum notice required before booking

This feature is intended to help you manage your business by preventing any last-minute bookings. For example, in the screenshot below you will notice that the “notice required before booking” is set at 24 hours. If your activity (party, class, camp, etc.) starts on July 10th, consumers will not be able to book on July 9th (24 hours from the start time). The green availability box will change from green to gray, informing the customer that’s it’s no longer bookable.  I just want to point out that the minimum notice needed to book can be more than or less than 24 hours.

Reason 2: “Unavailable time” has been created on the PlaceFull calendar

We understand that things come up last minute. Instead of unpublishing or deleting a listing that’s no longer available, you can create a “unavailable time” on your calendar. You can either make the listing(s) unavailable all day or for a specific period of time.

Your PlaceFull Management Calendar: What you see

Below, you’ll notice I created an “unavailable time” for July 18th (gray block) and applied that unavailable time to all of my listings. It’s important to note that unavailable times can be applied to all listings or to a single listing. You can scroll through your different listings by visiting the Quick Listing Manager (see red box).

You can see below that this listing is available from 2-4pm (daily), and the quantity available per time slot is 1. This means that if a customer books the listing on Thursday from 2-4pm, it will automatically show up as unavailable for future customers. If your business can have multiple activities during the same time period, change the quantity available to 2 (or more).

Reason 4: Your listing duration is more than your available times

When building a listing, you are required to enter for how long the activity is available. Below, you will notice that the activity is available for 4 hours; however, you’ll notice that the availability for the listing is ONLY 2 hours (5:00pm-7:00pm). This mistake will cause your calendar to skip from month-to-month. This is an easy change. Just make sure your listing availability is equal to or greater than the listing duration.
