Booking Confirmation Messages and Welcome Messages

Hello Everyone,

In the past few weeks I have received some questions about the Booking Confirmation Message and the Welcome Message features of PlaceFull. With this article I hope to clear up any confusion people have about these two messages.

Both the Booking Confirmation Message and Welcome Message are features that you can use in PlaceFull to customize the Booking Confirmation Email that the customer receives after making a booking. However, there is a difference between the two…

Booking Confirmation Message: Here you can enter a message for your customers that will be included in every booking confirmation email. It will be included at the top of each booking confirmation. See the picture below for reference.

Welcome Message: Here you can enter a message for your customers that is specific to the event/listing that is being booked. It will be included in the bottom of the booking confirmation email. See the picture below for reference.

Tips & Tricks for Reducing Calendar Latency

In the past few months we have receive several comments about the calendar view not loading quickly when image files have been attached to the calendar notes. Unfortunately, the calendar notes were not originally intended to support image files. However, as many of you know, the calendar now has the ability to support images to an extent. The catch is that when images are attached to the calendar notes the calendar loads much slower than it typically would.

Until we can provide a better solution for speeding up the load time of the calendar with images, we would like to provide you with some tips and tricks to help reduce calendar latency.

We have decided to test the speed at which calendar-based images affect calendar loading time on the website and so we can better inform our accounts on how to decrease calendar latency. We tested several different images at different sizes and attached them to different combinations of days on the calendar to see how load time was affected. We also tested with individual pictures being attached to days and multiple pictures being attached to individual days.

Here is what we found…

  1. The larger the file, the longer the load time (Obviously)
    1. We recommend resizing photos to be smaller than 100 KB in file size
    2. Anything more than 1 MB will significantly increase latency
  2. The more pictures attached to individual calendar days, the longer the load time.
    1. We recommend no more than two pictures per day
  3. The more days the pictures are posted to the longer the load time
    1. We recommend you do not repeat calendar notes with image files in them
    2. If you do repeat a note with a picture, don’t repeat the note for more than 30 days
  4. The more photo files you use in the calendar the longer the load time
    1. Avoid using more than 5 unique file images on the calendar at one time
    2. Each additional file image attached to the calendar is another file that needs to load before it can be viewed, the less the better.

If you do choose to attach image files to your calendar in PlaceFull, we hope that these notes will help to reduce customer facing calendar latency.

New Tax Reports Added

We are happy to announce our latest release of 2020. We have added two new reports to the PlaceFull Reports section. To find these reports, navigate to the Reports > Billing Section. You will find the two new reports at the top of the list just above the “Daily Payout Summary”. The “Billing and Tax Details” and “Billing and Tax Totals” Reports offer an easy way to view your taxable goods and listings in one location. We are hoping these reports will help streamline everyones work flow this tax season. The “Billing and Tax Details” report gives you a detailed look at the tax collected on each individual transaction that occurred during the selected time period. The “Billing and Tax Totals” report gives you a summary view of the tax collected during the selected period.

TBT Feature Refresh! Listing Settings – PlaceFull Hacks

You guys ever get sick of having to go through and un-publish listings once that event is over? Have you ever been annoyed when you have to go through multiple pages of checkout to finally order whatever it is you were ordering? Well, we have a solution for both of those issues, and they both are on the Listing Settings page. Below I will explain how to turn these on and what it will look like to the customer making a booking.

Listing Settings: Auto Un-Publishing

This small feature will make your life easier once the event is over because the night after your event is finished, you will not have to worry about people being able to see events from the past week, month or even a year earlier. The night after your event, engaging this feature will make the software go through and un-publish all events that are over. It will make your website look more professional and people won’t see an event and get excited but then realize that it was over already. With all that stuff being said, here is how you turn this feature on.

1. Start by going to and signing into your account.

2. Now go to the Manage tab on the menu bar. When it is clicked once, it will have a few options, select Listing Settings.

3. Next, click the check box underneath Publishing.

4. Done! Now your listings that have a specific end date will be unpublished after that date.

Listing Settings: Checkout

This is another small feature but it may make your customer not as stressed. Once you turn it on, it will put all the checkout steps into one page instead of 3 or 4. This is purely based on your opinion if it is better or not, though many people like how its only one page. Now, here is how you do it.

1. Start by going to and signing into your account.

2. Now go to the Manage tab on the menu bar. When it is clicked once, it will have a few options, select Listing Settings.

3. Now, click the check box under Checkout. It will have a box then say Use a single page checkout.

4. Done! Now your checkout page is only one page rather than 3 or 4.

Now that you have activated both these listings, here is what the one page checkout will look like.

Throwback Thursday Feature Refresh!

In this week’s Throwback Thursday Feature Refresh we highlight being able Notes in the calendar!

This feature has been out for a while, but some people forget about it or are too new to not even know how to use it. The notes feature can be useful for saying the manager will be out of town, or the store will be closing early, or maybe just a reminder to prep for the party that day! There are so many different ways you could use this feature to your advantage. Oh, and you may be thinking that you don’t want all of your customers to know these notes, well you don’t have to worry. These Notes don’t show up on your actual calendar! It’s just for you and your employees! With that being said, here is how you create a note in the calendar…

  1. Start by going to your calendar on your PlaceFull accountred.jpg
  2. Next click on either the day you want the note (In this it’s the 10th) or the “Add Note” button on the right side.calen.jpg
  3. Next, a screen like this will come up. Make sure “Add Note” is selected on the top, NOT “Block off time”. From here you can pick the day, the time, and write the actual note. Then click “Save” and you’re done!Note.jpg
