Sure, you can throw your kid’s birthday party and have the same old piñata, same old game of pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey, same old tray of soggy sandwiches. OR you could kick your kid’s party into high-gear, take it to a level beyond the ordinary and make it such an epic party that the classroom is buzzing for weeks and the other Moms are positively green with envy.
Some birthday celebrations are crying out for that over-the-top touch. Whether you’re celebrating your kid’s first double-digit birthday, an incredible Bar or Bat Mitvah, a luxurious quinceanera, or a super sweet sixteen, PlaceFull has the parties and venues that take your party from “just another birthday” into the stratosphere.
I freely admit that I am a Beta-Mom. I’m the one who brings store-bought cookies to the classroom bake sale, who forgets Halloween and ends up putting her kid in a 400-thread count Egyptian cotton pillowcase with eye-holes and who reads her kid Strunk and White at bedtime. So sue me.
Booking the birthday party is easy, thanks to PlaceFull, where I can book an awesome party with hardly any effort. But the place where I am the most lamentable is birthday party favors. For my kid’s last birthday, 30 minutes before guests started arriving, I filled paper lunch sacks (some wrinkled from being reused) with Costco granola bars, individual novelty bandaids, high-end 72% cacao dark chocolate squares, and leftover Breast Cancer 3-Day silicone bracelets. And then I forgot to hand out the favor bags as the children departed.
But, having discovered the deep, rainbow colored hole of Pinterest, my dream party favors have taken a turn for the crafty side. I’m going to share some of my favorites with you.
“Children need 60 minutes of play with moderate to vigorous activity every day to grow up to a healthy weight.” Let’s Move! Program
With the weather getting cold and the rain starting to fall, it’s time to start figuring out how you’re going to let your kids work out all their energy without tearing your house apart or ruining their shoes in the mud. Here at PlaceFull we have TONS of great places that will keep your kids active, dry, engaged, and happy through the long, wet Northwest rainy season.
Cool weather also means that birthday parties need to move indoors but just because that takes pony rides off the table (ponies shouldn’t be on tables in the first place, very dangerous) it doesn’t mean that the party stops moving! Discover some incredible spaces for rockin’, active, indoor birthday parties in the Puget Sound area.

While little girls may be made of sugar and spice and everything nice, these days, little boys are made out of X-Men, Halo, and Professional Sports. Not that we’re complaining; college won’t pay for itself but a Baseball scholarship might! When planning a birthday party for boys you want something that’s active, engaging, and totally awesome, right? Right. Let’s get started.
